Music Influences…
The O.T.R.N.I. has very different music influences which come together even just to play a cover. Infact Mureed has preferences for metal, nu Metal, hard rock and general rock especially from the ‘70s. Simone comes from a electronic underground past and still spend some time on this music; after he moved on to grunge, ‘70s rock, metal, nu metal, reggae, Irish folk, Italian folk, indi, British pop & hard rock. Mike has a vast music background… infact he’s the link between all the members of the band. He listens to trance, rock, indi, a bit of metal, R&B, pop, British pop, hard rock, Irish folk and other stuff too. Paco is the one who gives rhythm to the band so he’s preferences are music with good vibration like reggae, rock from the ‘70s. Clive is the challenge for the band. He loves R&B, hip hop,rap and dancing. He also loves music from his own country which can be considered Zimbabwean’s folk with an R&B influence. This is also some of the music that Clive produces back home.

History of the band...
February Year 2005 Mike Prosser, Simone Cimaglia, Mureed Ahmad, Francisco Javier Dominguez and Clive Mhende thought about starting a music project: Create the first official Les Roches School Band…
During a car trip in mike’s car the group came up with their name On The Rocks No Ice… But what is unknown is that there is a kind of second name (A nick name) which is The Bluche Brothers…
Their aim was to perform at the school show known as Cultural Night… there were few more people who helped create the band and they also wanted to join it: Antonio, Bjorn and Ashley…
In the end only Ashley performed with the band that cultural night and people enjoyed the show…. The songs which were played that night were: La bamba, knocking on Heaven’s door and The always great Sweet Child o’mine…
After a 6 months break the band joined together again in January 2006 willing to perform more.
So they did… infact they were contacted by the pgd group who were organizing a Valentine’s dinner. The band had to perform during the breaks between each course… That night they performed unplugged with Paco playing guitar and harmonica… The songs chosen that night were Stand By Me, Wonderful Tonight and Sweet Child O’mine Unplugged On the Rocks No Ice Version… O.T.R.N.I. performed again during the pub night in the lobby of LES ROCHES.
The band performed again at the Cultural Night and it had a special guest, Natalie a female singer who performed together with the band No Woman No Cry and Every Breath You Take. That night O.T.R.N.I. also performed Save Tonight and Nothing Else Matters.
After a second 6 months pause the band got together again in January 2007 receiving requests for their performances as soon as they were back. They played at the welcome back party, at the Date dinner, at Rock The Night dinner and as usual at the cultural night where they performed Let Me Entertain You, Wonderful Tonight O.T.R.N.I. Reggae-Rock Version, Bohemian Like You and Snow (hey oh). In summer 2007 Mureed and Simone will create a parallel project until next February. Mike is already part of a project band called Eponymous since 2001. Clive is working on a new project (Unleashed), watch this space for updates and details, Paco does a lot of own music composition and so does Simone. For Mureed this is his first band but he does a lot of music compositions and gives guitar lessons.
